November's Fun Filipino Mahjong Night

We did it again — Filipino Night sold out again! My heart is so full every time I get to share the variation of mahjong that started it all for me. Seeing whole families and multiple generations playing together was honestly the best thing ever.

Especially because the night was almost cancelled!!! My helpers, Mom and Dad, were questionable about making their crucial appearance! Despite living in a planned neighborhood with HOA-provided landscaping, my mom asked my dad to trim the banana tree in their backyard a few days before Filipino Night.

The result? One trimmed banana tree, one very happy Mom… and one Dad with a pulled back muscle. The poor dude was struggling to stand, sit, lie down, honestly, to exist!!!

Thankfully, an Uber ride and a lot of Advil got the guests of honor to the studio, and the event was saved!!! And I’m so happy everything worked out! We had three whole families, new players, experienced players, and just a ton of fun energy in the room! It was amazing to see the space fully utilized with the wall down!

Dad is fully banned from any yardwork or heavy lifting a week before the event. This is something he is very happy about! Mom, not so much! We hope to see you there!
